SINGAPORE - GE Industrial AeroDerivative Gas Turbines (GE-IAD) will supply the Gas Turbine Division of Ishikawajima-Harima Heavy Industries Co. Ltd. (IHI), Tokyo, Japan with two LM2500 and one LM1600 aeroderivative gas turbines. The units will be used by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government's Sewage Division, Tokyo.
Each gas turbine will drive an electric generator in simple-cycle mode to power rain water pumps. The gas turbines will be installed at the Shibaura Pumping Station (LM2500), Shiodome No. 2 Pumping Station (LM1600) and the Kuramae Sewage Treatment Center (LM2500), all in the Tokyo metropolitan district. The gas turbines will be used exclusively for emergency power generation.
The gas turbines will be manufactured by GE-IAD at its Evendale, OH facility, and will be placed into power generation packages by IHI at its Kure Works No. 2 in Hiroshima Prefecture. All three gas turbines are scheduled for service in March 2000.
Including this recent order, Tokyo Metropolitan Government will have a fleet of 14 LM gas turbines: four LM1500, seven LM2500 and three LM1600 gas turbines.
