Since 2010, he has served as President of GE Aerospace Greater China and was promoted to Global Vice President of GE in 2014. He took on the expanded role of Vice President, President & CEO, GE China in 2020.

As President of GE China, Weiming led the aviation, healthcare, and energy sectors, fostering business development through continued localization and deepening relationships with governments and partners at all levels. Additionally, as a key member of the leadership team, Weiming supported GE’s transition as it completed its split into three public companies on April 2, 2024, with GE Aerospace trading on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) as a standalone company under the ticker "GE".

Weiming is the first GE China president with a Chinese education and the first leader developed within China to rise to the position of regional leader. His journey spans from team member to project leader with a global vision and local practice, covering strategy and operations, and focusing on business and team development. His career reflects both his personal achievements and GE's commitment to actively practicing localization and cultivating local talents. Based on these experiences, he was appointed as Senior Economic Advisor to the Shaanxi Provincial Government and Senior Economic Advisor to the Hubei Provincial Government.

While deepening government-enterprise cooperation, his industry influence has continued to grow. He was awarded "Person of the Year" at the 16th Aerospace Laurel Award,—the most influential award in China's aerospace industry, marking wide recognition for his exceptional leadership and outstanding contribution, and has been named “Annual CEO of Multinational Companies in China" by Jiemian, one of the most influential media outlets in China, for three consecutive years.
