"Innovative low-pressure compression system for low-emission aircraft propulsion" - MFB

The project focuses on research and development activities aimed at creating product and business process innovations with global application. The product innovation involves the development of an advanced low-pressure compression system (LPC module), specifically the first compressor module integrated within the internal duct. The business process innovation entails the creation of a forecasting tool powered by machine learning and artificial intelligence algorithms. This tool will optimize sensor placement and parameter selection for designing test stands (RIG tests) tailored to innovative compression modules.

The innovative compression system is targeted for application in the all-new Open Fan architecture in development for narrow-body aircraft. Along with new engine core and other technologies, this architecture is expected to achieve a significant reduction in fuel consumption compared to engines today—approximately 20%—while maintaining performance comparable to current engines in the segment.

The project is being executed by a consortium led by GE Aerospace Poland, with AVIO Poland as a consortium member.
