See what we're doing today

for the benefit of us all tomorrow
Decarbonizing commercial flight is one of the greatest challenges the modern aviation industry has ever faced. We take seriously our role in shaping the future of flight, and we have the spirit, ambition and means to deliver now, in the near term and for the future. It can’t happen without optimal fuel efficiency, and no one is better positioned to meet this challenge than GE Aerospace.

    Landmark technologies

GE Aerospace is rising to the challenge of building a world that works with industry-leading technology and innovation. We’re already developing our next-generation of technologies to achieve greater fuel efficiency and reduced CO₂ emissions for the future of flight with an ambition to be a net-zero company by 2050 for the Scope 3 emissions associated with the use of sold products. Beyond engines, GE Aerospace’s Systems business continues to bring additional efficiencies to aircraft performance. Software solutions that can help deliver immediate carbon reductions are available today and already in use.

    Watch

Together, GE Aerospace and Safran unveiled in 2021 the CFM Revolutionary Innovation for Sustainable Engines (RISE) program targeting more than 20 percent lower fuel consumption and CO2 emissions compared to today’s engines. Plans are to demonstrate and mature a range of new, disruptive technologies for future engines including open fan engine architecture.
