Regional Compagnie Aerienne Europeenne Signs OnPoint Solution Agreement for CF34 Engines

FARNBOROUGH AIR SHOW -- Regional Compagnie Aerienne Europeenne has signed a 15-year OnPointSM solution agreement for maintenance, repair and overhaul of its CF34-8E and -10E engines that power its 16 EMBRAER E170 and 10 E190 aircraft. The OnPoint agreement is valued at more than $230 million (USD) over the life of the contract. Regional Compagnie Aerienne Europeenne is a subsidiary of Air France-KLM Group.

"Contracting a long-term services contract with GE will definitely meet our expectations for CF34 maintenance, while taking advantage of AF/KL Group synergies," said Jacques Pauty, purchasing director of Regional Compagnie Aerienne Europeenne.

"GE Aviation has extensive knowledge of its CF34 engine family, and Regional Compagnie Aerienne Europeenne will receive the benefits of this knowledge and OEM material for its MRO needs to keep their engines in peak operating condition," said Paul McElhinney, president and chief executive officer of GE Aviation's Services organization.

With 1,800 employees, Regional, a wholly owned Air France subsidiary, operates more than 300 daily flights, covering a network based around the Air France KLM Group hubs at Charles de Gaulle, Amsterdam and Lyon, and connects 20 French regional capitals and 30 European cities. The airline operates a fleet of 50 aircraft, including 10 Embraer 170 and 10 Embraer 190 aircraft, with an additional six E170 to be delivered this year. Regional offers a wide range of parallel services at its aircraft maintenance centres in Clermont-Ferrand and Lille by specializing in the maintenance of Embraer jets, of which it is the leading European operator, as well as turbo-props.

OnPoint solutions are customized service agreements tailored to the operational and financial needs of each customer for any size fleet. These agreements are designed to help lower the customers' cost of ownership and maximize the use of their assets. Backed by GE's global support network, OnPoint services may include overhaul, on wing support, new and used-serviceable parts, component repair, technology upgrades, engine leasing, integrated systems support and diagnostics and integrated systems.
