Pierre Fabre Is New CFM International President

SINGAPORE — Pierre Fabre has assumed the role of president and chief executive officer of CFM International, the 50/50 joint company between Snecma Moteurs of France and General Electric of the United States. The company, headquartered in Cincinnati, Ohio, is the world’s largest manufacturer of jet engines for transport aircraft. 



In this position, Mr. Fabre is responsible for the overall results of the CFM56 engine programs and the profitability of the joint company, as well as the development of the worldwide market, negotiation of sales, and customer satisfaction. 



Mr. Fabre, who will serve a three-year term with CFM, joined Snecma Group in 1975 after graduating from the prestigious Aeronautical College Sup Aero. He has been involved in the CFM56 program for most of his career, serving in various capacities, including the Snecma Technical Representative to GE, based in Cincinnati, from 1981 to 1984. 



Between January 1995 and September 1996, Mr. Fabre served as the head of Snecma's Controls and Accessories division. In September 1996, he was named CFM executive vice president and CFM56 Program Director for Snecma. Most recently, he served as executive vice president of the Aircraft Braking Division of Messier-Bugatti, a subsidiary of Snecma Group. 



Mr. Fabre, 48, is married and has five children.
