May 19, 2026

Company to boost capacity, reliability, and on-time delivery for customers worldwide

HERMOSILLO, Mexico, May 19, 2026 – GE Aerospace today announced it is investing MXN 760M in its manufacturing facilities in Hermosillo and Saltillo, Mexico, reinforcing the company’s long-term commitment to its operations, employees, and customers. The funds will help upgrade facilities, including additional tooling and layout improvements, to strengthen delivery for customers in the face of growing demand.

Major upgrade in Hermosillo

“These projects will strengthen Hermosillo’s ability to support GE Aerospace’s global customers and programs, while continuing to raise the bar on safety, quality, delivery, and cost,” said GE Aerospace Plant Leader Jonathan Ruiz of the Hermosillo facility.

The Hermosillo plant is set for a major upgrade, with a wave of projects focused on capacity, reliability, and building improvements. The new MXN 725 million investment will fund:

  • New tooling to support higher production volumes and enhance quality
  • Large machining and moving equipment to improve efficiency and throughput
  • Precision gauging equipment to ensure robust, repeatable quality
  • Upgrades to worker facilities to improve safety, ergonomics, and the overall employee experience

Continued investments in Saltillo

“With these investments, the Saltillo plant continues to optimize its processes and expand its capabilities to provide our customers with even more reliable, high‑performance solutions, delivered on time to support their fleet and mission needs,” said Unison Saltillo Site Leader Rodrigo Castro.

In Saltillo, GE Aerospace will invest MXN 35 million in new equipment, tooling, and building upgrades. These investments will help modernize the facility, improve operational performance, and support future demand.

Key areas of focus at Saltillo include:

  • New production equipment to enhance capability and efficiency
  • Updated tooling to support improved quality and repeatability
  • Building and infrastructure improvements to optimize the layout, flow, and working environment

Supporting long-term growth

These new investments build on the commitments announced last year for Hermosillo and Saltillo. Across 2025 and 2026, GE Aerospace will have invested a combined total of approximately MXN 1.3 billion in Mexican manufacturing.  In addition to the two plants, GE Aerospace has a world-class engineering center in Querétaro, in operation for 26 years.
