Milestone moment: Emirates this week flew the first demonstration flight in the Middle East using 100% Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) in one of the two engines. The successful demonstration using a GE90-powered Boeing 777 helps show the compatibility of 100% drop-in SAF with existing aviation equipment.

Silk Way West Airlines has ordered a combined total of 16 GE9X and GE90 engines to power its fleet of long-haul Boeing 777 aircraft as part of its fleet upgrade efforts. The engine order includes five GE9X engines and 11 GE90 engines.
