EVENDALE, OH – Tianjin Airlines announced an order for 20 CF34-10E-powered EMBRAER E190 aircraft. The engine order is valued at more than $300 million (USD) list price.
As the largest regional airlines in China, Tianjin Airlines already have an extensive fleet of CF34-powered EMBRAER E190s in service that have proven themselves as exceptionally durable and reliable.
“Tianjin Airlines’ order for additional CF34-10E-powered E190s demonstrates the airline’s confidence in the engine-aircraft combination,” said Chaker Chahrour, vice president and general manager of Global Sales & Marketing at GE Aviation. “The CF34 engine has performed extremely well since entering service in 2005, with a 20 percent longer time on wing before its first shop visit.”
More than 1,400 CF34-10E engines are in service with more than 60 operators of Embraer's E190/195 aircraft and the EMBRAER Lineage 1000 business jet. The CF34-10E engine holds the highest thrust rating for a CF34 engine at 20,000 pounds of thrust and has accumulated more than 13 million flight hours and 9 million cycles.
Developed with GE's revenue sharing partners, IHI Corporation and Techspace Aero (Safran), the CF34-10E engine has advanced technology features including: a highly efficient three-dimensional aerodynamic (3-D aero) high-pressure compressor; a low-emission single annular combustor (SAC); a low-solidity high-pressure turbine in which efficiency is improved and the number of airfoils is reduced; and a chevron exhaust nozzle that reduces jet noise.
The CF34-10E engine is part of the CF34 engine family. More than 6,000 CF34 engines have been delivered, and GE has continuously invested in product enhancements since the first engine entered service in 1992. Today, CF34 engines are in service with 150 operators in more than 60 countries. The engines have accumulated more than 100 million flight hours and 80 million cycles on Bombardier CRJ and Embraer E-Jet aircraft.
