A Commitment to Investing in our People
As we look ahead to the final days of bargaining, our focus today and always will be on investing in people. Through strong wages, cash incentives, and thoughtful benefits design, we continue to create opportunities for our employees, their families, and business to thrive.
Since 2000, average wages for our production employees represented by the IUE-CWA have increased 104%, surpassing inflation.
In just the past six years, average wages for production employees represented by the IUE-CWA have increased by approximately 22% as well as $3,500 in lump sum payments, delivering $39,000 in additional cash, which breaks down to approximately $6,500 per year. This boost supports our employees and their families while reflecting the value they bring to our business every day.

*Assumes 2,080 hours/yr. Includes family coverage in GEHB Option 1 medical & premium dental/vision. Wage tiers: $50–75K (July ’19–June ’23), $75–100K (July ’23–June ’25). Base hourly rate: $32.70 (July ’19); excludes overtime & wage progression.
We understand that rising health care costs are a concern for our employees. That’s why we’ve designed our compensation growth to more than offset increases in employee health contributions. Over those same six years, health care contributions by our production employees represented by the IUE-CWA increased by approximately $5,508, resulting in a net benefit of approximately $33,840 in additional take-home pay.
We're proud to offer compensation packages that make our employees among the highest paid in their communities. Our commitment to rewarding the dedication and skill of our workforce remains stronger than ever, and that is the spirit in which we are approaching these current labor negotiations with the IUE-CWA bargaining committee.

Week 3 Negotiations Update
Today marks the halfway point of our third week of national bargaining between GE Aerospace and the IUE-CWA Bargaining Committee. We have made progress toward reaching a new agreement before the current contract expires at the end of the day on June 22.
GE Aerospace and the union have traded significant wage and benefit proposals with both sides looking to ensure our employees are recognized for their contributions and supported through a competitive wage and benefits package. These proposals are the subject of continued, active conversations.
As part of these discussions, the IUE-CWA and GE Aerospace exchanged some important facts about GE Aerospace current wage and benefits* to help contextualize the Company’s proposals. Did you know that…
- GE Aerospace employees are among the highest paid people in their communities.
- We’ve eased the impact of rising health care costs for production employees through competitive wage increases and no increases to health care contribution rates in the last two years or rises in deductibles since 2020.
- GE Aerospace covers 100% of preventative care to encourage our employees to remain healthy.
- We awarded the Takeoff Grant, a special stock award in June 2024, enabling employee ownership in the Company. Since then, our stock has significantly outperformed the market.
While we’re proud to offer these wages and benefits, we welcome the opportunity to make good jobs even better. We will approach the remaining days of negotiations with a focus on achieving a comprehensive agreement that meets the needs of our employees and positions our business for long-term success.
While important work remains, we are encouraged by the momentum.
*GE Aerospace reserves the right to terminate, amend, suspend, replace or modify its benefit plans and programs at any time and for any reason, in its sole discretion. No individual has a vested right to any benefit under a GE Aerospace welfare benefit plan or program.

Week 2 Negotiations Update
This week we are wrapping our second full week of national bargaining between GE Aerospace and the IUE-CWA and its affiliated locals. It also represents a significant milestone in the process: GE Aerospace gave its first wage proposal and negotiations will now also focus on economic as well as non-economic issues.
We will continue to have complex but essential conversations around compensation and benefits. This week we discussed:
- Wages and wage structure;
- Health care benefits; and
- Retirement and other benefits.
It’s common at this point in bargaining to assess differences in each side’s initial proposals, understand each side’s priorities, and try to work together toward a mutually beneficial agreement.
These discussions are critical to reaching a contract that supports both our people and the continued success of our business in the future.
Already, GE Aerospace is proud to offer competitive wages and benefits that are among the best in the industry. And our attrition shows it – among our IUE-CWA employees covered by the National Agreement, just 1.5% of our people voluntarily resign each year.
Every proposal we put forward this week is anchored in thoughtful planning and a deep commitment to our employees, the communities where we operate, and the sustainable future of GE Aerospace. We remain committed to a solution that makes good jobs even better during these IUE-CWA contract negotiations.
As a standalone company, GE Aerospace continues to build momentum, driven by strong performance, deep customer trust, and the dedication of our workforce. Our proposals are designed to:
- Recognize and reward employee contributions;
- Support a stable supply chain and manufacturing base across our U.S. facilities; and
- Strengthen our long-term competitiveness.
This week and throughout the negotiations, our priority has remained clear: maintaining safe, reliable operations across all sites and delivering for our customers. We are committed to bargaining in good faith with the IUE-CWA, as we have for decades, and to reaching an agreement that reflects our shared goals.
We believe that, together, we can achieve a contract that honors the contributions of our employees, supports the future of flight, and positions GE Aerospace and our employees and customers for continued growth and success.
Negotiations will resume next week, and we look forward to continuing discussions with the IUE-CWA Bargaining Committee.
This was a difficult week for our industry following the tragic loss of Air India Flight 171. We are deeply saddened by this loss, and we extend our heartfelt sympathies to the families and loved ones of those impacted. We have activated our emergency response team. With safety always our top priority, we are committed to providing all technical support necessary to our customer and the investigation.

Week 1 Negotiations Update
The first week of negotiations with the IUE-CWA and its affiliates is wrapping up today. Below is a summary of the week:
- We began the week by welcoming one another and reaffirming our shared commitment to reaching an agreement that positions our people, company, and communities for success. Steve Majer, our Global Head of Labor and Employee Relations, shared, “For more than 50 years, GE Aerospace has built a legacy of productive, respectful partnership with the unions that represent our employees. This legacy isn’t just history—it’s a source of pride. That spirit of partnership continues today. I know that when we work together, we can find solutions that both recognize the value of our employees and position us to compete and win—now and in the future.”
- As is typical in the early stages of national bargaining, GE Aerospace leaders provided an overview of the company’s business outlook, including highlighting demand trends, operational priorities, and how our proprietary lean operating model, FLIGHT DECK, enables us to navigate the dynamic aerospace environment. These conversations helped ground negotiations in a mutual understanding of the industry landscape and our collective focus on safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
- We also hosted external benefits partners and internal subject matter experts for a detailed review of GE Aerospace’s current offerings, including market-competitive health care, retirement plans, and learning and development programs. Our experts presented our current compensation philosophy and benchmarking data relative to other employers, underscoring that GE Aerospace jobs are not just good jobs, but great jobs. This is reinforced by our exceptionally low annual turnover among our IUE-CWA represented employees of just 1.5%—a fraction of the industry average.
- Finally, GE Aerospace and the IUE-CWA exchanged initial contract proposals, laying the groundwork for productive, good-faith discussions in the weeks ahead. We remain committed to ongoing dialogue with IUE-CWA leadership and to reaching a fair, competitive agreement that reflects today’s aerospace industry and supports our employees, operations, and customers.
Negotiations will resume next week, and we look forward to continuing discussions with the IUE-CWA Bargaining Committee.

Day 1 Negotiations Update
Today, GE Aerospace and the International Union of Electronic, Electrical, Salaried, Machine and Furniture Workers - Communications Workers of America (IUE-CWA) began negotiations for a new collective bargaining agreement. The IUE-CWA and their affiliates represent GE Aerospace employees at several U.S. GE Aerospace facilities including Lynn, MA; Madisonville, KY; Arkansas City, KS; and Niskayuna, NY. We are striving to reach an agreement that positions our people, company, and the communities in which we operate for success.
In late July, we will begin negotiations for new collective bargaining agreements with the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM) and United Auto Workers (UAW).
At GE Aerospace,
As a world-leading provider of propulsion, services and systems for commercial and military aircraft, our substantial investment in research and development keeps us looking ahead.
Our confidence to deliver for today, tomorrow, and the future is due to our culture rooted in three lean foundational behaviors: respect for people, continuous improvement, and customer driven.
We have a longstanding history of partnering productively with our unions. For over 50 years, GE Aerospace has partnered productively with the unions representing its employees, negotiating 16 national contracts and many local agreements. We look forward to bargaining in good faith this summer with the unions representing approximately 3,200 U.S. employees.
