Soaring to new heights,
competitive and more sustainable
GE Aerospace is at the forefront of efforts to create a more competitive and sustainable future for aviation in Europe. We are developing comprehensive sustainability strategies that include new engine architectures, hybrid-electric systems, hydrogen combustion, and Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF). Our latest engines, including the GEnx, CFM LEAP, and GE9X, are 10-15% more fuel-efficient than their predecessors and can already operate on approved SAF blends. GE Aerospace is also leading several CLEAN AVIATION technology demonstrators in the region, such as AMBER (hybrid-electric), HYDEA (hydrogen), and OFELIA (open fan). We advocate for policies across Europe that promote the shift toward net zero through research and innovation, working with organizations like the Renewable and Low-Carbon Fuels (RCLF) Alliance and Airlines for Europe (A4E).
