Giving Back, Lifting Up Communities, and Supporting America’s 250th Anniversary Through Volunteerism
April 24, 2026 | by GE Aerospace Staff
Powered by purpose, GE Aerospace employees worldwide came together to lift up their communities as part of Global Volunteer Week and celebrate the company’s second anniversary as a standalone company earlier this month. The effort was complementary to National Volunteer Week in the United States and other meaningful service efforts around the world.
Across 40 sites, more than 1,300 employees participated in more than 85 volunteer events, contributing approximately 4,600 volunteer hours in support of local nonprofits and community organizations — a testament to GE Aerospace’s deep-rooted legacy of giving and the belief that volunteerism is a powerful force for lasting impact.
Volunteers United for America
This year, Global Volunteer Week plugged into something even bigger: America Gives, a nationwide call to action for America250 that amplifies the power of local service and aims to achieve the largest volunteerism effort in U.S. history. In recognition of the United States’ 250th anniversary, GE Aerospace is donating its U.S.-based volunteer hours to America Gives.
As communities across the country gear up for the semiquincentennial, GE Aerospace employees are rolling up their sleeves in unity with others to honor America’s milestone anniversary.
How We Serve
GE Aerospace teams partnered with food banks, veteran centers, STEM programs, and environmental organizations: supporting work that strengthens access to food, education, and community spaces.
Exemplifying our purpose, GE Aerospace Chief Information Officer David Burns spoke on his time volunteering with Matthew 25: Ministries in Ohio. “Around the world, GE Aerospace employees are exemplifying our mission of Lifting People Up during our annual Global Volunteer Week. I had the chance to aid Matthew 25 Ministries in their international disaster relief efforts in Cincinnati. GE Aerospace is proud to foster a culture that puts service and community engagement at the center of our work.”
Here’s a sampling of how GE Aerospace employees devoted their time and energy throughout the week:
- In Texas, employees from the Dallas-Fort Worth area supported Valor Ranch by working in their aquaponics garden to finish the piping and draining system and placed fence posts, building on a volunteer project from earlier this year.

- In Subang, Malaysia, employees supported Kechara Soup Kitchen by preparing and packaging meals for the less fortunate.

- In New Hampshire, employees from Hooksett helped restore Camp Allen which serves individuals with disabilities.

- In Bangalore, India, employees crafted seedballs to be planted in Koratagere and Bandipur to help restore degraded forest.

- From Cincinnati to Washington, D.C., employees served as Guardians and greeters for an Honor Flight to recognize veterans for their service and sacrifice.

- In Petropolis, Brazil, employees spent time with local students in the classroom and around the school helping encourage learning.

- In Lynn, Massachusetts, employees supported Habitat P.L.U.S by working alongside the residents to prepare the property for Spring.

- In Hong Kong, China, employees helped plant trees in Toupu Central Park.

- Remote employees and their families supported Love for the Elderly whose mission is to combat social isolation among older adults by writing thoughtful letters.
