The digital disruptor: GE Aviation provides real-time operations insights to flydubai
At the Dubai Air Show in November, GE Aviation and flydubai announced that they have reached an agreement for GE to provide Intelligent Network Operations across the airline’s fleet of Boeing 737 aircraft. The digital solution, provided by GE, pulls together multiple data streams, from multiple systems, into an intuitive UX design to predict the impact of operational disruptions, to optimize recovery back to normal operations and to minimize the effect on passengers.

At GE Aviation, we monitor more than 30,000 commercial engines daily. How much data do we collect? Our engines produce data snapshots at various points in flight, such as take-off, climb and cruise. The snapshots include up to 1,000 different measurement parameters, and each engine can pump out between 50 to 200 megabytes of data per flight depending on the flight time. This gives us a massive amount of data.
