Air India Selects GE Aerospace to Power Record Aircraft Order
Air India, part of Tata Sons, has signed a firm order for 40 GEnx-1B and 20 GE9X engines, plus a multi-year TrueChoice™ engine services agreement. The deal was signed in coordination with the airline’s firm order for 20 Boeing 787 and 10 Boeing 777X aircraft.

India’s IndiGo airline will use the fuel-efficient LEAP-1A engines from CFM International to power its fleet of 310 new Airbus A320neo, A321neo and A321XLR aircraft. The agreement, the largest in CFM’s history, includes 620 new installed engines and associated spare engines, as well as a multi-year service agreement.

Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) has selected CFM International LEAP-1A engines to power 35 additional A320neo family aircraft. The order, which includes eight spare engines and a Rate Per Flight Hour (RPFH) support agreement, is valued at $2.9 billion U.S. at list price.
