GE Aerospace in the community

Lifting People Up
Our Engineering Center's volunteer program in Mexico has touched lives for 25 years. Our work spans education, environmental conservation, and support for vulnerable groups and children with disabilities – because everyone deserves a chance to thrive.
In the TECHO program, our employees roll up their sleeves to build homes for families who need them the most. When our teams come together to plant trees, help communities recover from disasters, or care for animals in need, we see the real impact of committed action.
Colleagues at GE Aerospace Celma came together in the first week of April to support a series of volunteer initiatives in Petrópolis, Brazil. Led by the Volunteers group, the team focused on advancing education, facility maintenance, and sustainability - reinforcing GE Aerospace’s commitment to the local community.
Through hands-on engagement across multiple initiatives, teams delivered meaningful impact throughout the week. Activities included storytelling sessions in public schools, revitalizing the sports court at the NGO “Sal para a Terra,” and transforming company scrap materials (EVA) into educational toys. About 40 volunteers contributed to these efforts, resulting in the creation of around 50 toys for distribution to registered schools across the city, extending the reach of the initiative.

Nurturing community relationships
From recycling scrap materials to making toys for community schools to distributing books that help children learn to read and write, our volunteers demonstrated the power of solidarity and teamwork.
