On Wing Support Korea was launched in 2000 at Gimpo Airport. Recognizing the growing need for support, we expanded the center in 2013. It was relocated to the Gimpo Aerospace Industrial Complex with enhanced quick-turn service capabilities for large engines. One of seven global centers, it serves as a crucial hub for quick-turn and real-time services in Asia Pacific to keep our customers flying.

Our On Wing Support Korea technicians are carefully selected from a highly skilled talent pool, backed by years of extensive training, OEM certification, and on-the-job experience. Their rapid response and technical expertise ensure that airlines worldwide operate at peak safety and efficiency, minimizing disruptions to flight schedules.

FLIGHT DECK In Action

Through FLIGHT DECK, GE Aerospace’s proprietary lean operating model, the On Wing Support facility in Korea has undergone significant transformation since its establishment.

Thanks to continuous daily improvements, the team can now induct 4 GEnx engines and 20 LEAP engines at the same time, enabling fast turnaround and shipment of over 70 engines each year.

*CFM LEAP engines are a product of CFM International, a 50/50 joint company between GE Aerospace and Safran Aircraft Engines.

Achieving LIIFT-off with
FLIGHT DECK

In 2023, through an initiative known as LIIFT, or Level II Floor Transformation, the OWS team in Korea reconfigured their shop layout in a way that increased the number of engines they could service at one time from 10 to 16, without expanding headcount or footprint.
