The GE Aviation Lafayette team assembles its first Passport engine for the Bombardier Global 7500 aircraft.

In February, the National Aeronautic Association announced nine nominees for excellence in aeronautics and astronautics in America, competing for the prestigious Collier Trophy. Of the nine nominees this year, GE Aviation has ties to two projects in contention for the prestigious award: the Unmanned Aircraft Systems Traffic Management (UTM) team and the Bombardier Global 7500.

GE will power Bombardier’s cockpit and cabin connectivity solutions – including new, curated, service bundles that will simplify the selection of cockpit and cabin services with tip-to-tail solutions for new and in-service aircraft.

After flying nonstop from Singapore to Tucson in March, Bombardier's Global 7500 jet set another world record in October, flying from Sydney to Detroit on one tank of fuel—powered by GE Passport engines.

The European Business Aviation Convention and Exhibition (EBACE) is taking place this week in Geneva, Switzerland. EBACE is not be the biggest aviation show of the summer but generates major announcements in the business and general aviation sector.
