The most important private and business aviation event in Europe, EBACE 2023, was staged in the city of Geneva last month, gathering the industry’s top players along with their latest developments and flagship products. Among the flagship products on display were full-scale mockups of GE’s Passport engine and the new Catalyst turboprop engine, a product of Avio Aero - a GE Aerospace company.  

Krystal was looking for her next challenge in life and started with GE Aerospace a little over 6 months ago in the Powerplant Technician Apprentice Program where she is getting the hands-on experience and classroom training required to obtain her FAA Repairman certificate and FAA Powerplant certificate. Male-dominated industry, no problem. Krystal has accepted the challenge and is excited for the opportunity to be able to maintain, repair, and overhaul jet engines.

Because of GE's dedication to keep our customers flying, GE was named #1 for Engine Support in the latest AIN survey. The goal of the survey, targeted at qualified users of business jets, is to encourage continuous improvement in aircraft product support throughout the industry.

The GE Aviation Lafayette team assembles its first Passport engine for the Bombardier Global 7500 aircraft.

In February, the National Aeronautic Association announced nine nominees for excellence in aeronautics and astronautics in America, competing for the prestigious Collier Trophy. Of the nine nominees this year, GE Aviation has ties to two projects in contention for the prestigious award: the Unmanned Aircraft Systems Traffic Management (UTM) team and the Bombardier Global 7500.

More than 300,000 people and 10,000 planes will invade Oshkosh, Wisconsin this week for the Experimental Aircraft Association’s annual week long AirVenture fly-in. Not only is it massive–the largest of its kind in the world–but it’s also one of the most unique.
