This week at the Oshkosh air show in Wisconsin, the world’s largest air show, GE Aerospace debuted its new livery design for the aircraft testbed for NASA’s Electrified Powertrain Flight Demonstration (EPFD) project, a landmark effort to help prove the feasibility of hybrid electric flight for commercial aviation.

In our next instalment of Quick Six, we sat down with Hannah Gray, who was recently a finalist in the British Ex-Forces in Business Finalist for her work as an advocate for Veteran’s transitioning into commercial careers. She leads GE’s Military Officer Leadership Program for the UK and is also a regular speaker at Officers Association & Forces Employment Charity employment summits specifically supporting female veterans and those interested in commercial careers.

Military Makeover pulls together local businesses and volunteers to carry out home improvements — everything from installing new flooring to revamping a patio — based on the needs of the veteran’s family. The new season, which premieres August 11 on Lifetime, will be sponsored by GE Aerospace as part of the company’s ongoing commitment to service members. In return, the show’s producers chose to help a family in Lynn, home to GE Aerospace’s flagship defense plant.

For our next installation of Quick Six, we sat down with Jami Tomczak, Lean Facilitator for supply chain at GE Aerospace's Grand Rapids, Michigan, location. She's been with GE Aerospace for four years and helps drive improvement by ensuring that people at her site are executing lean practices. She does this by fostering an environment of learning so everyone can develop creative solutions using lean. Jami is not only passionate about lean, she’s also an active member in the Pride Alliance employee resource group (ERG) at the Grand Rapids facility. She's an advocate and hopes to inspire others to live in their truth by showing up as her authentic self to work every day.
