Military Makeover with Montel, a reality show on Lifetime and the Armed Forces Network, revamped a veteran’s home in Lynn, Massachusetts. As the final episode aired last week, the family said it “restored our faith in humanity” to see the contributions of volunteers, including a big contingent from GE Aerospace.

Military Makeover pulls together local businesses and volunteers to carry out home improvements — everything from installing new flooring to revamping a patio — based on the needs of the veteran’s family. The new season, which premieres August 11 on Lifetime, will be sponsored by GE Aerospace as part of the company’s ongoing commitment to service members. In return, the show’s producers chose to help a family in Lynn, home to GE Aerospace’s flagship defense plant.

The Carmody family, a veteran family, was chosen for 35th season of ‘Military Makeover with Montel’ in partnership with GE Aerospace. Airing on Lifetime and the American Forces Network, Military Makeover pulls together businesses and local volunteers to carry out home improvements — everything from installing new flooring to revamping a patio — based on the needs of the veteran’s family. By appearing on Military Makeover, the Carmodys hope to “bring light to the mental health issues veterans may silently face even when they seem OK,” the family says.

This coming Fall, GE Aerospace be the presenting sponsor for Military Makeover With Montel, a reality television program that renovates homes for veterans in need. Thanks to this collaboration, part of the series’ 35th season will focus on helping a veteran in Lynn, Massachusetts, the home of our defense business.
