2023 marked another dynamic year for aerospace. New challenges appeared, others stuck around and some thankfully faded.     What changes could 2024 bring? We spoke with five GE Aerospace experts on the trends they are watching next year and the impact those trends will have on the global aerospace system.  

A look back at key examples of GE Aerospace’s progress to reduce emissions in 2023.

Known for its daring rescues and VIP transport, the Sikorsky S-92 is getting an upgrade. GE Aerospace's CT7 engines that power the S-92 will now use a blend of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) and conventional jet fuel during maintenance, repair, and overhaul at ITP Aero. This move reflects the aviation industry's commitment to sustainable flight.

Two GE Aerospace leaders outline the sustainability efforts that are moving the company forward and how they are critical and entwined in the broader movement known as ESG: environmental, social, and governance.

During a Senate Commerce Committee hearing yesterday on next-generation aviation technologies, GE Aerospace General Manager of Advanced Technologies Arjan Hegeman gave senators a look at what the company is doing to advance the future of flight.

GE Aerospace’s GEnx aircraft engines powered the industry’s first wide-body aircraft on a long-haul route using Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) to India. Vistara, India’s full-service carrier and a joint venture of Tata Sons and Singapore Airlines, operated the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner ferry flight from Charleston, South Carolina, in the United States, to New Delhi, India, using a blend of 30% SAF with conventional jet fuel.
